my point; money down the drain if some people couldn't even master the Simple Past Tense verb for 'cut' is 'cut' and not 'cutted'

i still remember some of my birthday celebrations...

- students singing Happy Birthday in class

- students singing Happy Birthday right in the middle of the morning assembly
(horrified giler masa ni... hehehe... takut Pengetua bising)

- students singing Happy Birthday during Majlis Aidilfitri
(the Pengetua jokingly asked them later... ni majlis raya or majlis birthday cikgu kamu?)

- surprised birthday celebration from friends & students
(which somehow i managed to 'sense' coz it was a tad too obvious they're up to something... hehehe)

- receiving gifts from students and friends and family...
(from flowers to perfumes to teddy bears.... hehehe)

and one the most surprising birthday gifts was when someone sent me a bouquet of red and white roses many years ago. I was so 'blur' masa tu... sampai nyaris tak dapat tips delivery boy tu... hehehe.... nasib baik housemate "here's your tip and thanks"... sambil tarik aku masuk dalam umah balik. Coz it was dead winter at that time... hahaha.... blur yg amat sangat sampai sejuk winter tu pun aku tak perasan it's there.

anyway, to that person... and everyone who has wished & gave presents and memories... do know that i really appreciate everything...

Pahang Declares Three Days Of Mourning

KUANTAN, Jan 23 (Bernama) -- Pahang has declared three days of mourning from Saturday as a mark of respect for Sultan Iskandar Ibni Almarhum Sultan Ismail of Johor, who died yesterday.

Pahang State Secretary Datuk Muhammad Safian Ismail said all government departments and government agencies were discouraged from organising any activities that had elements of fun or entertainment during the period while the state flag is to be flown at half mast.

"The directive has been disseminated to the heads of departments concerned via the short-messaging service. The private sector is also encouraged to follow suit," he told Bernama here.

Alhamdulillah...

yesterday's MARA circular had confirmed that i've been approved to be 1 of DG44 teachers. To make it 'sweeter'... the kenaikan pangkat will be backdated to 1st of April 2008.

you may ask, why lambat naik pangkat...

sebab aku ni malas nak amik PTK tu... hehehe
my kenaikan is based on my years of service + PTK + big boss' recommendation.
if nak cepat naik pangkat, rajin2 le study for PTK...

untuk study some things yg takde kene mengene dengan my job spec...
memang aku kurang sanggup.

lebeh baik aku study to be a better teacher.
pangkat has no meaning if the quality of a job done is... ntah pape....
lagipun, i want satisfaction... not duit or pangkat.

and of course, to see my students... successful

despite many products yg sama (read: kerepek, fruit cordials), there are some highlights why people should not miss these kind of showcase.

each state is given 1 lot to display whatever product they want to show/sell.
beside states, agencies related to local products like MARA, SME, MITI also displayed & sold some stuffs. some states also presented their local traditional cultures.
(which reminds me, ada someone tu penah menari Sumazau masa sekolah rendah.... hehehe)

walaupun bentuk lain, tapi rasa tetap sama macam kueh kapit nyonya melaka

itu yg dalam dewan. yg diluar, under 1 huge open-air tent, each state is given a few stalls to promote their local food.we bought nasi kerabu, rendang tok + ketupat palas and mee kolok. owh, i also showed my parents "ha, tu la gulai batang pisang" when we stopped at gerai Kedah. my dad's family tetibe je asked me Aidiladha baru ni about gulai batang pisang.

i also bumped into Jawa Rangers HotFM (AG & Kieran), Azizah Arifin WHI & Maria JJCM.

There was also 1 indoor traditional perfomance by a troupe from a primary school in Bukit Kepong, Muar. Alahai... comey-comey belaka the performers. Especially those 2 little boys... budak darjah 1 or 2 kot. They did tarian zapin, tarian asyik, tarian kerinching and tarian piring.

also, a fashion show by bebudak tadika.
1st 'model'... pakai baju tradisi Kadazan. bijak jugak budak nye... technician silap pasang lagu dia... she told Kieran, cikgu kata kalau lagu salah, jangan naik pentas.
hahahaha... bijak... bijak...
and bila lagu dia terpasang, ramai bersorak.
apa tak nye, kitorang yg tengok ingat, dia akan naik pentas and jalan macam model.

kesah 'sunny-side up' ketika meeting

lepas meeting tadik, ada la orang belanja all AJKs: cekodok, nescafe & nasi lemak yg mantopz.

since nasi lomak tu di pack, maka most of us nak makan kat own room le.

as i was easing out of my seat, ternampak la kakak sebelah bukak polisterine dia.

she took the sunny-side up egg out of the polisterine (dgn sude le) and somehow, quite loudly gak, asked:

'sape ada telur keras?'

sume yg masih ada (quite a few + one male AJK) looked at her... and 2 seconds later...

hahahahahahahahahaha

the kakak really looked blur... nape sume ketawa....

she soon realized why and she was like that's-not-what-i-meant-la....

but then, lepas tu dia sendiri gelak for the double-entandre blooper.

lauk nye memang terangkat... kebetulan pulak masa kenduri tu, ujan dengan angin yang kuat melanda... hujan rahmat.

we had grang asam (asam pedas daging), paru goreng cili, hati goreng kunyit, sayur campur, sambal udang, kari ayam (coz some of dad's family members takleh makan daging - darah tinggi) and of course the main menu... sup tulang yg direbus menggunakan dapur kayu...

Wedding Gifts

heh, tajuk tu tidak bermakna aku akan kawin dalam masa yg terdekat ye...

cume bila sembang2 dgn kawan2 yg bakal kawin serta yg dah kawin about this topic, maka aku pun nak le share my thoughts about it.

wedding gifts memang hak individu yg nak bagi... tapi bila asyik dapat bende yg sama je i.e. periuk nasik sampai 14 bijik... rimas jugak.

so, i made up my mind, kalau tiba masa aku kawin nanti... i prefer, gift-vouchers.

so aku & hubby can buy whatever we prefer... hehehe

even weddings yg aku attend, aku tak pernah bagi bende yg berbalut kertas hadiah.
aku bagi kad yg dalam dia ada cash... biar pengantin decide dia nak apa.

tapi if ada yg nak bagi plasma TV ke, peti ais ke, washing machine ke, aku of course... TERIMA dgn senang hati...hehehe

Kenapa aku baca komik

bagi yang pernah nampak aku baca comics, they all share the 'shocked' facial expression...

for me, there's nothing wrong with reading comics.

comics can also teach us moral values, directly or by being cynical...

after a stressful day, I'm not going to relax by reading something 'heavy'...
so i turn to comics.

they made me laughed and thus reducing my stress.

aku tak le senakal someone tu (budak PD tu la...hehehe) tapi ntah nape, malam final Muzik-Muzik tahun tu, aku wat keje 'jahat' sket.

gi tengok program tu kat TV kat library secara 'PATI - Pendatang Asing Tanpa Izin'.
with 6 other fellow students' librarians, including our ketua la.

hehehe... ended up kantoi dgn guru penyelaras library & kene denda ketuk ketampi sorang 10 ketul after berdesing-desing telinga kena marah by him.

memang aku rasa guilty yg amat sangat coz masa kat Jasin, cikgu ni la yg paling rapat dgn aku & paling amik berat about me. tup-tup, i ended up hurting his feelings by betraying his trust. lama dia tak bercakap dgn aku gara-gara hal ni.

apapun, bukan dia yg aku nak story kat sini... it's about what happened when we quietly 'menyelinap' balik hostel after the incident... have to menyelinap because we know ketua warden and his penolong hari2 round college area after lights-off. Tetiba...

'hoi, sapa kat sana tu!?'

apa lagi, macam Rabuan Pit le kitorang.... zup zap zruss zras... segala macam pokok renek kitorang langgar. anak tangga pun langkau 3 skali... tanpa sinaran lampu kalimantang or minyak tanah or bulan tau... dalam gelap ni. if jatuh, memang tergolek dog le jawab nye...

sampai asrama, lompat atas katil & tarik selimut cover muke... ketakutan. hehehe...

kat luar hostel, kedengaran Ketua Warden 'bising' sebab ada students (kami la tu) berani langgar peraturan... and esok nye kat morning assembly, kitorang kene 'sound'. walaupun nama tak disebut, tapi ramai 'tau' sapa 'pelesit-pelesit' yg Ketua Warden sebut... malu giler....!!!!

i do express my dissatisfaction & frustration with the attitude of some students...

but I've NEVER bitched about my responsibility.

so, even though i'm frustrated with some students, i still continue doing some things for them.
(read: making sure they still receive what they need to receive i.e knowledge)

because that's my responsibility...

lagipun, not all students have attitude problems. some really want to learn; to soar to the high reaches... don't deny them that just because you hate your job or you hate your colleagues.

and if you hate your job or colleagues so much... the best way is...

QUIT aje la!

only have 3 weeks of holiday so....

2 weeks to go to all 4 places & then 1 minggu lagi, lepak umah jaga ayam....eheksss!

geram nya...

1. dah kata dari last week lagi, today ada test... masih ada yg kata 'eh, tak tau pun'. mana nak 'tau' when you didn't even attend the class & dah le tak datang, tak tanye kengkawan plak tu if ada bende penting yg lecturer bagi tau.

2. tau ada test, tapi berlenggang je masuk kelas.... cuma bawak pencil-case. sedangkan dah dibagitau, bawak sendiri kertas foolscape. bila dapat kertas soalan baru 'gelabah' mintak kertas foolscape dari kawan.

3. buleh tanye lagi, essay ni berapa perkataan/perenggan...sedangkan kat kertas soalan dah siap dinyatakan bebenda tu...

4. and as i expected, ada yg tanye... 'nak kena buat thesis statement ke?'....

ha, ni la some anak melayu... kita ngajau kat depan, dia sembang kat belakang. bila tegoq, tarik muka... bila exam, terkial-kial tanye soalan yang mengarut...
